A 24-year-old man disguised as a delivery rider attempted to rob a gold shop in Mahachai, Samut Sakhon, stealing 205 baht of gold jewelry during the incident. However, he was apprehended by vigilant motorcycle taxi drivers who chased him after the robbery.

The robbery occurred around 7:38 PM on October 7, 2024, at Bangkok Gold Shop in Lotus Mahachai. The suspect, described as tall and wearing a rider jacket, helmet, and gloves, jumped over the glass counter and seized 84 pieces of gold necklaces while the employees were present. He then attempted to flee the scene.

After receiving a report, the local police quickly mobilized to apprehend the suspect. Before he could leave the vicinity of the mall, he was intercepted by several motorcycle taxi drivers who helped to capture him and waited for police assistance.

Upon arrest, the suspect had all the stolen gold in his possession along with a folding knife, a fake gun, and two homemade explosives. He was identified as Kamphan Srihasuk, residing in Uthai Thani province. The motorcycle he used was modified with spray paint and had its license plate removed. Additionally, he had prepared paper punctures to drop in case he was being followed.

During questioning, Kamphan was uncooperative and provided minimal information regarding the robbery, speaking incoherently. Police took him to the gold shop for identification by the victims before further interrogation at the local police station.

A taxi driver involved in the chase recounted that he was about to go home when he noticed the robbery suspect running out with pursuers behind him. As the suspect attempted to flee on his motorcycle, the driver decided to crash into him, causing the motorcycle to topple. The suspect tried to escape but was chased and eventually captured with the help of others.
