Gunman surrenders after shooting outside bar in Suphanburi

A man, identified as Mr. Natthapong and nicknamed “Sabe”, has surrendered to the police following a shooting incident outside an entertainment venue in Suphanburi, where three people were shot and two were stabbed. The motive appears to stem from a conflict that arose when a group of people began dancing on a table despite being told not to, leading to a disagreement with Mr. Natthapong who believed they reported him to the bar staff.

On September 23, 2023, the police provided updates on the shooting incident that resulted in multiple injuries. Mr. Natthapong, 47, was at the bar with his wife when the situation escalated. After a verbal dispute outside the bar, he left the premises, returned armed, and fired at the group involved in the altercation before fleeing the scene.

Subsequently, the authorities have categorized the incident into two separate cases – one involving the shooting, which resulted in three injuries, and another involving stabbings with two more victims. The investigators utilized CCTV footage to identify Mr. Natthapong, who later voluntarily surrendered to the police.

An additional suspect, identified as Mr. Nikom, reportedly stabbed two individuals from the same group following the initial shooting, possibly due to a misunderstanding while intoxicated.

The police have charged Mr. Natthapong with attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and other related offenses, and he is currently in custody awaiting further proceedings.
