A nail salon instructor in Samut Prakan has reported an Indian man who allegedly deceived her into a romantic relationship and transmitted sexually transmitted infections (STIs) to over 100 individuals, including both men and women.
On September 24, at the Saimaithong Rod coordination center, a 24-year-old woman identified as Ms. Bee sought assistance from Mr. Ekphop Leuangprasert, a consultant to the Ministry of Interior, claiming that a 45-50 year old Indian businessman named Mr. PK had lured her and others under the pretense of seeking true love.
Ms. Bee explained that since August, the man started frequenting her workplace, initially asking for a nail service, which she declined. But later she agreed to do his nails after he insisted. He began contacting her regularly, asking personal questions and inviting her out.
On September 11, after a month of communication, they went out for dinner where they engaged in unprotected sex. After their encounter, he blocked her on all contact platforms. It was only later that she learned from his girlfriend that the man had deceived numerous attractive individuals for sexual encounters.
His girlfriend revealed that there had been around 100 victims across various areas including Bearing, Samrong, Bangna, and the province of Samut Prakan. Some women who had sexual encounters with him reportedly developed herpes or oral lesions.
Ms. Bee suspects that the man’s behavior is a calculated attempt to find sexual partners and spread infection, although it is unclear what specific infections he may have transmitted.
Currently, she experiences itching and discomfort in her genital area and has yet to seek medical testing. The girlfriend of the man also reported having similar symptoms for over a year.
Mr. Ekphop stated that he will facilitate medical examinations for the victims at a hospital in Samut Prakan and will encourage them to file complaints with the local police as the man poses a social threat, with numerous other potential victims likely present. He advised victims to come forward and report to the Saimaithong Rod page.
