The head of Huai Khwang Police Station reported that a Russian man assaulted “Mint-Chalida” actress’s brother, who is hearing impaired. Initially, the assailant expressed remorse and sought to apologize, but the victim declined.

On September 25, Raja Chai Vijitwongthong, 29, brother of actress Chalida Vijitwongthong, intervened to help a restaurant employee being attacked and in turn was assaulted by the Russian man, who kicked and punched him. The incident occurred at around 2:00 AM in Soi Ratchadapisek 3, and the victim reported it to the police.

As of September 30, Huai Khwang Police Chief Pol. Col. Prasopchoke Eiamphinit stated that a sign language interpreter is needed to communicate with the assailant, who is hearing impaired. An interpreter will be provided on October 1 to file charges for bodily harm.

Pol. Col. Prasopchoke mentioned that the interpreter indicated the assailant feels regret for the incident. Police attempted to mediate an apology with the victim, but the victim is not interested in negotiation. Should the assailant confess, the case will proceed to court within 48 hours. Medical reports indicate that the victim sustained bruises and would need medical care for no more than three days, fitting the criteria for an assault charge under Section 295 of the Criminal Code.

“As for national entry and exit procedures, investigators have reported to the Immigration Bureau regarding the incident, and it will be their discretion to allow the individual to enter or exit the country. Legal processes will continue until court conclusions are made, and any prison sentence must be served before considering deportation,” stated Pol. Col. Prasopchoke.
