Mother and daughter terrified by knife-wielding intruder

The article discusses an incident where a mother and daughter were terrified when a 23-year-old neighbor, Chanot Chiewchan, broke into their home armed with a “machete” late at night, causing them to fear for their safety.

The incident occurred on October 10, 2024, around 8:30 PM. The mother, Phetcharat Nu Kaew, 52, reported it to the police after capturing the event on surveillance video. She explained that Chanot previously had issues and had been exposed to drugs and alcohol.

Phetcharat expressed that Chanot had behaved aggressively towards her before, including previous incidents where he came to her house four times with a weapon. Although she had reported him to the police and did not want to escalate the situation, she felt compelled to act after the latest incident.

Her daughter, Worapichcha, 23, recounted the terrifying experience when she heard banging on the door, saw Chanot climbing over the fence, and entering their home. He called out, “Where are you?” before realizing no one was there and exiting shortly after. He had caused damage to the door and fence.

Worapichcha noted that while she felt anxious during the incident, she had never faced anything like that before. She also mentioned that Chanot had a history of problematic behavior in the community.

Chanot’s mother, Khun Jan, 55, revealed that her son had been drinking with family before the incident and admitted to being unaware of his intentions. She acknowledged that her son had a history of substance abuse.

The police took Chanot into custody for questioning and found no traces of drugs in his system. Charges filed against him include unauthorized entry into a dwelling during the night and carrying a machete without a valid reason.
