A Myanmar man, reluctant to be placed in a cell after being arrested for molestation, pretended to have a seizure for over an hour. Ultimately, he was found to be in good condition after a medical check-up.
On October 13, 2024, Police Lieutenant Kray Sak Cheewit and his team responded to an incident involving a drunk Myanmar laborer who had sexually harassed a woman near Bang Wua Temple market on Road Theparat (Bangna-Trad).
They apprehended two men, Winray, 23, and Chaiwanacho, 26, both intoxicated, while a third suspect fled the scene. Officer Sak Cheewit was selling lottery tickets nearby when he observed the three men harassing a 23-year-old woman, Ms. A, prompting his intervention.
Witness Ms. A recounted that she was initially touched by Chaiwanacho and thought it was accidental before realizing she was being harassed. When she confronted the men, they followed her, attempting to assault her, leading to Sak Cheewit’s timely intervention.
Another witness, 43-year-old vendor Ms. Wilaporn, verified that the men were drunk and noted their behavior towards Ms. A. After she reported the incident, it coincidentally aligned with the men approaching Ms. A again, allowing the police to detain two of them.
Upon being taken to the police station, Chaiwanacho suddenly feigned a seizure, alarming everyone. His friend Winray confirmed he was only pretending. Emergency responders concluded he was merely putting on a show to avoid being jailed. Eventually, a hospital examination confirmed he was healthy, and he was charged with sexual harassment.
