Owner kills business partner in financial dispute, 2 dead

A housing project owner, who is also a former president of the local crime prevention committee, shot and killed his female partner before taking his own life. The incident is believed to be linked to financial stress related to unpaid debts for several months.

On October 2, 2024, around 6:10 PM, police received reports of two gunshot victims at a sales office in Nonthaburi. Upon arrival, they found the bodies of 54-year-old Kanokwann Jamthasipaisarn, the female partner, slumped at her desk with a gunshot wound to the head, and 55-year-old Supachai Panyatep, the housing project owner, also shot in the head while seated. A handgun and two spent cartridges were found at the scene.

According to a sales employee, Supachai entered the office around 5 PM, asked for privacy with Kanokwann, and shortly after, two loud bangs were heard. Initially thought to be harmless, it was later revealed that a serious situation had occurred when a colleague found the scene and smelled gunpowder.

A security guard at the site reported noticing the commotion and discovered the victims, leading to emergency services being called. Witnesses mentioned that the couple had experienced financial disputes, especially regarding pending payments and loans.

An employee from the purchasing department confirmed Supachai’s financial issues, stating he hadn’t made payments for several months. Witnesses also noted that Kanokwann had previously asked Supachai to repay debts, thus indicating ongoing tensions.

Medical examinations confirmed both individuals had fatal gunshot wounds to the head, with police theorizing that Supachai, distressed over financial issues, shot Kanokwann before committing suicide.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, and the bodies have been sent for further forensic examination.
