The case of a murdered female driver, Ms. Thitirat or Kathee Chattaput, has shocked the public due to the brutal nature of the crime. She was a 47-year-old who accepted a ride request via the Bolt application.
After picking up a male passenger, Ms. Thitirat went missing, leading to police involvement. Her body was later found in a state of decomposition in a field in Nakhon Pathom Province, confirming that she had been murdered.
Rapid investigation revealed that the last passenger had used her vehicle, and the inquiry led police to the main suspect, Mr. Narongsak or “Mak,” a 35-year-old male who confessed to using the deceased’s services.
Mak admitted to killing Ms. Thitirat during the ride by choking her and then disposing of her body in the area where it was ultimately discovered. Following the murder, he sold the car for thousands of baht, with the vehicle later linking back to police officers.
The police chief of Region 7 has assured the public that those who purchased stolen property will face charges, aiming to set an example as there have been concerns regarding police involvement with stolen vehicles.
However, the perpetrator’s actions have left many questioning law enforcement’s oversight in such matters.
