Police hunt for ex-boxer after he evades arrest warrant

Police are hastily checking CCTV footage in pursuit of a “former boxer” who has escaped arrest warrants for theft after earlier involving himself in a standoff at a doctor’s house where he fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.

In a related incident, his wife, under stress from the pursuit, reportedly attempted suicide by holding a gun to her head and forced a police vehicle to take her to a roadside in Thanyaburi before fleeing into the forest. She later surrendered to police.

On October 4, 2024, at 09:40, Police Colonel Phuwadol Unpho from Bang Sue Police Station reported that the suspect had managed to escape through a ventilation duct while police were securing the premises to help those inside, despite officers having set up a perimeter. The suspect disappeared into the community, making it difficult for police to track him.

The exact whereabouts of the suspect remain unclear, nor is it known how long he has been at large. Authorities prioritize the safety of civilians while searching for the suspect, and Bang Sue Police are working with Tao Pun Police to expedite the review of CCTV footage to locate the fugitive.
