A tragic incident occurred involving a police officer who was killed in a motorcycle accident when a pickup truck collided with him as he was on his way to buy food. The police discovered a damaged Toyota Vigo pickup truck and the wreckage of a black and red Honda motorcycle without a license plate. The deceased, identified as 51-year-old Police Sergeant Wetchaporn Samdaeng, was found with severe injuries from the accident, including limb fractures and head trauma. His personal belongings were scattered, indicating he had been shopping for food.
The pickup truck driver, 41-year-old Apivach Nangam, reported that he was driving to take his mother to market when he saw the motorcycle swerving dangerously. He attempted to avoid a collision but ended up crashing into the motorcycle, leading to the fatal accident.
Residents in the area shared that the deceased officer was well-known and well-liked for his friendly demeanor and willingness to assist the community. He frequently helped pedestrians and had a regular habit of visiting the village for groceries, typically driving safely.
Despite the driver’s testimony, police are treating the statements with skepticism. They conducted an alcohol test on the pickup driver which returned negative. Evidence from the accident site is being collected to determine the precise cause of this unfortunate event.
