A special task force called “Hanuman” has surrounded an area in Inthamara 29, where an armed suspect has taken a child hostage inside a house.
On October 3, 2024, it was reported that a suspect, approximately 180 cm tall and wearing camouflage clothing, was holding both a child and a woman hostage and firing at police throughout the standoff.
Subsequently, authorities managed to rescue the female hostage, but a child hostage still remains inside. The officials have requested additional lighting to assist in the operation.
