A Mazda 2 driver, Mr. Wari, reported a dangerous incident where a 1.5-meter metal rod fell from an elevated train track onto his car while driving on the Chaengwattana Road near the MRT station in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi. The incident occurred on September 24 at around 22:24, but Mr. Wari sought assistance on September 26 from the government at the Sai Mai Must Survive page, as no agency had taken responsibility for the incident.

Mr. Wari explained that he was driving with his family when the metal rod struck his vehicle, damaging the hood and the side mirror. Thanks to good fortune, the rod narrowly missed the windshield, avoiding a potentially serious accident. After the strike, Mr. Wari managed to safely pull over, where highway department officials, who were driving behind, assisted in finding the fallen rod on the road. They confirmed that the rod had indeed fallen from the pink line of the mass transit system.

The incident left Mr. Wari and his family shaken, particularly his wife, who was seated next to him. They were relieved that the rod fell sideways rather than straight down, which could have caused severe injuries. Their daughter, who sat in the back, is still fearful following the event. The car sustained several damages, including dents and scratches on the hood and side window.

Following the incident, Mr. Wari filed a report at the Pak Kret police station and sought further assistance via the Sai Mai Must Survive page to contact responsible agencies.

Mr. Ekaphob, a consultant to the Minister of Interior, expressed concern about the incident and plans to investigate the site to confirm the rod’s origin. He noted that while no injuries occurred this time, similar future incidents could pose grave risks to vehicles and motorcycles should heavier objects fall directly.

Additionally, he mentioned that the construction of the pink line has been completed and operational, thus no debris should be present, emphasizing the need for increased safety for travelers, especially given the past occurrences of such incidents.
