A 57-year-old sister shot her 60-year-old brother dead in front of her house following a long-standing dispute over inherited land. After the incident, she waited at the scene with the firearm used, claiming that her brother frequently started altercations and had previously assaulted her. The tragic event occurred on September 28, in Ang Thong province, when the brother confronted her and was about to attack her child, prompting her to use her 11mm gun, resulting in the brother’s immediate death.
The police received a report of the shooting around 6:50 PM, leading investigators and rescue workers to the designated location. The brother’s body was found in front of a plant pot shop he owned, having been shot once in the side and was discovered lying in a pool of blood. The gun used in the incident was seized by the authorities.
Interviews revealed that the siblings had been feuding over land inheritance for over ten years, with frequent confrontations escalating into physical violence. On the day of the incident, the brother drove to his sister’s shop, verbally assaulted her, and threatened violence again, which led to her shooting him to protect herself and her child. Following the shooting, the sister surrendered to the police and is now facing legal proceedings.
