Stabbing death of popular Chinese restaurant owner, sister arrested

A brutal incident in Nakhon Pathom has left Kranchit Renuwaen, a 23-year-old owner of a popular Chinese food shop, dead after being stabbed multiple times by his half-sister, Kalyakorn Renuwaen, 28. The attack, motivated by Kalyakorn’s resentment over their father’s favoritism towards Kranchit, took place on October 14th as they attempted to resolve personal issues over the phone, which escalated into a heated argument.

Following the stabbing, Kalyakorn fled the scene with Kranchit’s gold necklace weighing 3 baht, along with two gold amulets. Authorities tracked her down to a rental room in Uthai where she was apprehended, still in possession of the stolen goods and the clothes worn during the attack.

During questioning, Kalyakorn admitted to the crime, claiming it was an impulsive act driven by her jealousy of her father’s affection for Kranchit. Despite her confession, the police are skeptical, suspecting that financial issues may be an underlying factor for the attack. The case has drawn significant attention due to the familial ties of the offender and the victim.

Police Major General Chotiwat revealed that while Kalyakorn’s motive seems personal, the investigation continues as they explore potential financial motives behind the attack. The incident has shocked the community, raising concerns about familial conflicts escalating into violence.
