On October 2, 2024, a commotion occurred at a shopping mall in Ratchada when security attempted to stop a black Honda HRV with a new license plate, which had been stolen while its owner briefly left the engine running. Following reports, it was confirmed that the car belonged to a shopper who had been victimized by the thief.
Investigators from Huai Khwang Police Station later traced the stolen vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the Lat Phrao area of Bangkok.
Negotiations are currently underway for the suspect to surrender. Once in custody, the authorities will question the suspect about their motives and formally press charges.
