The Thai Chamber of Commerce is set to support the premier logistics trade show in Southeast Asia, named LogiMAT Southeast Asia 2024, scheduled to be held at the BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center from October 16-18, 2024. The event is expected to attract over 6,000 participants during the three days.
On September 25, Mr. Kritsana Vajigrailart, Secretary-General of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, announced support for the event, organized in collaboration with Koelnmesse and Messe Stuttgart. The concept for this year is “Man & AI Work Together,” featuring innovations across all sectors of logistics extending from upstream to downstream, including smart warehouse solutions, food logistics, temperature-controlled transport systems, and AI management technologies aimed at reducing costs. This event will serve as a platform for business networking and knowledge exchange between local and international stakeholders to foster potential collaborations.
The Thai Chamber of Commerce aims to connect Thai entrepreneurs with international partners, enabling them to access new technologies and innovations in logistics, which is crucial for driving the economy as trade and transportation evolve rapidly. The hope is that the event will allow Thai businesses to learn and enhance their logistics processes through the integration of advanced technologies, such as automated warehouse management systems, robotic material handling, and digital tracking platforms, thus improving their competitiveness in the global market.
Mr. Kritsana further noted that LogiMAT Southeast Asia 2024 is expected to positively impact Thailand’s economy, especially by inspiring logistics businesses to adapt to current challenges and enhance their capabilities for expanding into international markets, subsequently contributing to overall economic growth.
Mr. Hans Stotter, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart Asia, emphasized the event’s goal of establishing Southeast Asia as a future intralogistics hub, anticipating over 6,000 attendees who will engage with industry-leading exhibitors covering logistics solutions, hardware, and software beneficial for smart warehousing, lifting equipment, conveyor systems, temperature-controlled transport, and packaging. This will facilitate international trade discussions and business networking, especially with key industry representatives from regions like China and Germany.
Additionally, the event will feature technology presentations focused on maintaining quality and freshness within food logistics in the LogiFOOD zone, which will introduce new cold storage management solutions for ASEAN. The main partner, LogiSYM, will provide seminars with insights into logistics, particularly on cold chain technologies and temperature-controlled transportation systems. This event is believed to be vital for enhancing knowledge-sharing among Thai logistics operators and establishing important international trade networks to help local entrepreneurs meet global standards.
Mr. Thawach Jinapan, President of the Thai Warehouse Management Association (TIA), remarked that the event allows logistics and smart warehousing operators to update themselves on innovations with over 130 booths from various industries, including logistics, warehousing, and supply chain. This year’s focus has expanded to include presentations on logistical solutions in the food sector, temperature control, and comprehensive transport systems, meeting all business requirements effectively. The goal is for attendees to benefit from the showcased products and apply the knowledge gained to their businesses amidst challenges such as labor shortages affecting GDP growth.
LogiMAT Southeast Asia 2024 will take place from October 16-18, 2024, at Hall 100, BITEC Bangna.
