Two victims report Icon Co. for 600k baht fraud, stress leads to miscarriage

Two victims filed a police report against “The Icon” after losing a combined total of 600,000 Baht, expressing severe stress that led to both experiencing miscarriages.

On October 14, 2024, reporters revealed that Ms. Sa and Ms. Ning (pseudonyms) presented various pieces of evidence at Phothi Kaeng Police Station, Nakhon Ratchasima, after falling victim to the company.

Ms. Sa had invested 208,000 Baht and Ms. Ning 350,000 Baht in two rounds, totaling over 600,000 Baht in losses. Both friends were drawn in after seeing Facebook advertisements for an online course priced at 98 Baht.

Ms. Ning began investing in 2021, and Ms. Sa joined her as a downline in 2022 after being persuaded by the company’s representatives to increase her investment. Both women have since struggled to make ends meet, losing their savings and borrowing money, leading to significant financial distress.

They both experienced miscarriages attributed to stress caused by their financial losses; Ms. Ning lost her baby at six weeks, while Ms. Sa lost hers at two months, with doctors confirming the stress as a contributing factor.

Ms. Sa reported she currently has no funds even for basic necessities, including gas for her vehicle to file a complaint and is fearful of disconnection from utility services due to unpaid bills.

Reflecting on the situation after hearing a statement from the company’s boss Paul, Ms. Sa described feelings of despair and considering suicide, which she only refrained from when her child cried for milk, prompting her to reconsider her life choices.

Finally, Ms. Sa urged Paul to uphold his promises of support, expressing disappointment in losing faith after years of being a dedicated fan, feeling betrayed by the company’s promises and the subsequent downfall of her situation.
