Officials from a foundation retrieved the body of “Deputy Bird – Pol. Lt. Col. Yothanan Warangkhi,” Deputy Superintendent of Udomsuk Police Station, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in his office on the second floor of the police station. Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopasit Punsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, examined the scene and found that surveillance footage showed the deceased entering his office alone. The cause of death is unlikely to be work-related, as the police station had achieved its operational targets. It is suspected to stem from depression, as the deceased had expressed reluctance to take medication for his condition.
