A shocking case from Saraburi has come to light involving a 44-year-old village headman, Uthen Boonruangsri, who repeatedly lured and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl. The girl’s mother, distressed after noticing her daughter’s drastic change in behavior, reported the incidents to the Paweena Hongsakul Foundation for assistance. The girl had been assaulted three times in a rice field while her mother was working night shifts. Uthen threatened the girl with violence if she told anyone.
After receiving the report on September 25, foundation president Paweena coordinated with local police who quickly pursued the case. On September 27, it was reported that Uthen was arrested and subsequently confirmed to have committed the acts. The court denied his bail, and he was sent to jail.
The mother expressed her anguish, highlighting the betrayal from someone entrusted to protect the community, and called for strict action against him to prevent further harm to other children.
In a separate yet equally disturbing case, a 30-year-old woman named Porn reported that her 11-year-old cousin, Pim, had been sexually abused by her uncle since she was eight years old. Recent evidence surfaced with a video confirming the abuse. With the girl’s foster care situation being dire after discovering the true identity of her guardians, Porn enlisted help from the Xhissants Foundation. Immediate actions were taken, leading to the arrest of the perpetrator, who had videos and photos depicting further abuses on his cell phone. The authorities are currently investigating the full extent of both cases.
