Wat Pak Nam leases land for 30 years for new hospital expansion

On September 24, Bangkok Governor Chatchart Sitthiphan presided over the signing ceremony for a land lease agreement with Wat Pak Nam to construct the Phra Mongkhol Phepmuni Hospital (Sot Jantasaroh) in Phasi Charoen district. The agreement was signed by Phra Phrommoli, the abbot of Wat Pak Nam, and Dr. Lertlak Leelaruangsang, Director of the Medical Department of Bangkok.

The hospital is a collaboration between Bangkok and the National Buddhism Office, starting with the construction of outpatient and emergency facilities funded by donations. It is set to open for outpatient and emergency services on March 31, 2024, operating daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Rajpipat Hospital serving as a consultant.

The Phra Mongkhol Phepmuni Hospital will be built on 12 rai and 1 ngan (approximately 19,500 square meters) of land leased from Wat Pak Nam for 30 years, starting from October 1, 2024. The future plans include a nine-story main building with a basement and supporting structures, costing around 1 billion baht, with a capacity of 150 general hospital beds to service the local population of approximately 945,000 in Phasi Charoen and nearby areas, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility.
