A 42-year-old man named Naree Thapthim from Ratchaburi used a shotgun to shoot and kill his rival, Somchai Nuan-yam, 33, in front of his house following a confrontation. After the incident, Naree felt remorse and awaited police to surrender, explaining that he had longstanding grievances against Somchai due to prior conflicts involving his family. Naree claimed that Somchai had threatened him multiple times, which led to simmering anger and ultimately the lethal encounter when they crossed paths. The police arrived at the scene after receiving reports at around 6:50 PM on October 22, where they found evidence of the shooting along with the victim being critically injured from multiple gunshot wounds.
Witnesses indicated that the conflict escalated while Somchai was on his way to a nearby store, resulting in a heated verbal exchange. Naree then retrieved his shotgun from his house and shot Somchai twice. Although locals intervened and rushed Somchai to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Naree had already surrendered with the weapon in hand. Police have charged him with intentional homicide as they proceed with the case.
