Hostages safe; 2 rescued while suspect flees the scene

The Central Investigation Police announced that they have successfully rescued two individuals from a house where a suspect had taken refuge. The two hostages are now safe, while the suspect remains at large.

The incident occurred on October 3rd at 19:00, when the investigation team from Taopoon Police Station attempted to arrest a 39-year-old suspect, Santi Jehalee, wanted for nighttime burglary. During the arrest, he fired at police officers and fled into a nearby house, where he disabled security cameras to evade capture.

At 21:30, Taopoon Police coordinated with the special operations unit to encircle the area and used drones to monitor the suspect’s movements, while attempting to negotiate his surrender, which he refused.

It is known that Santi, a former Thai boxer and trainer, had a history of carrying firearms and wearing body armor.

As of 00:25, the police confirmed that both hostages had been safely removed from the house. The situation remains active as the suspect continues to evade capture.

Further updates will be reported as they become available.
